Binance announced the merger of Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and Binance Chain to form BNB Chain. This should cover the entire range of services of the world's largest crypto exchange: from games to DeFi to the Metaverse.
The Binance Chain and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) will operate under the BNB Chain in the future, as the crypto exchange announced in a statement .
The rebranding highlights “BSC’s association with the BNB token and the BNB ecosystem,” according to Binance .
The exchange also explained that the token abbreviation BNB will in future stand for “Build and Build” and replace the previous meaning as Binance Coin.
The BNB Chain is composed of the BNB Beacon Chain (formerly Binance Chain), BNB Chain Governance and BNB Smart Chain (BSC, formerly Binance Smart Chain).
The rebranding should also introduce new applications for users.
“BNB Chain will embrace large scale applications including GameFi, SocialFi and the Metaverse,” Binance explained.
