While the trucker protest against the corona measures is moving to the Canadian capital Ottawa, the federal police want to turn off the crypto money tap for the “Freedom Convoy”. 34 wallets have now been frozen.
The Canadian federal police are said to have blocked a total of 34 wallets that are said to be connected to Canadian truckers in the Freedom Convoy protest .
This was first reported by The Counter Signal , which refers to a corresponding order from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
Accordingly, the federal police issued an order requesting all FINTRAC-regulated organizations in Canada to stop transactions with the wallets.
In at least one of the wallets Bitcoin is said to be worth over a million US dollars.
Information about wallet transactions should be forwarded to a special task force.
The wallet freeze is intended to dry up funding for the protests.
