Mastercard recognizes the signs of the times and creates 200 new jobs. The focus of the venture: cryptocurrencies.

Mastercard wants to position itself better for the digital future. The company is creating 200 new jobs for its consulting branch in the areas of open banking, open data, cryptocurrencies and environment, social & governance (ESG).

The aim of the venture is to advise banks and other financial institutions on the transformation of payment transactions.

"Mastercard's consulting services for banks and merchants cover a wide range of digital currencies, from early-stage education, risk assessments and the development of bank-wide crypto and NFT strategies to crypto cards and the design of crypto loyalty programs." it in the relevant press release .

Mastercard also wants to be involved in the development of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs).
