Only a matter of time: The Uber CEO reveals that the company is dealing with cryptocurrencies.

In an interview with Bloomberg last Friday, February 11, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi announced that Uber would accept cryptocurrencies in the future.

Khosrowshahi explained that the cryptocurrency exchange mechanism was expensive and “not good for the environment”. However, if this changes in perspective, the company would "focus a little more on cryptocurrencies," according to the CEO.

The Uber boss also said that the company would “definitely eventually” accept cryptocurrencies. However, now is “not the right time”, according to the CEO.

Uber is the world's largest ridesharing platform. In the third quarter of 2021, the San Francisco-based company reported sales of over $23 billion. With crypto payments, the company could give mass adoption a decent boost.
